Kips Bay

A peaceful neighborhood on the east side, located next to Murray Hill, Midtown East and Gramercy, Kips Bay offers a taste of NYC residential life for businesspeople and families while still being ideal for tourists and vacationers. Within walking distance of the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden, and close to FDR Drive and the Midtown Tunnel, this is a lovely neighborhood that offers visitors the chance to be in a quiet, laid back area while still being right near the heart of the city.

The region is best recognized by a commercial strip mall, set back from the street, running parallel to 2nd Avenue. It includes a large AMC/Loews movie theater, a Borders bookstore, a Crunch Fitness center, and a 24-hour Rite Aid pharmacy.

The neighborhood is also home to New York University Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Center, St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral and Park, Todaro Brothers specialty market and the well known Murray Hill hospitals, which offer treats such as Bellevue's horse-drawn ambulance, a piano in one of the lobbies and a vest-pocket park in the back.
